O'Driscoll

The O'Driscoll clan have lived in the Baltimore area of West Cork Ireland for over 1000 years. A shortened form of the name is Driscoll.

My great  grandparents Anthony Driscoll and Margaret Glynn were born in Ireland in 1831. Their first three children were born in Dublin.

The family then moved to live in Chorley Lancashire England.

Their children were Nancy, Michael, Patrick & John. Margaret died young. Anthony, Michael, Patrick & John moved to Ashton under Lyne Lancashire.

John, my grandfather, joined the army and served in the West Indies and South Africa. He came back to England and lived in Bury Lancashire, where he preferred to spell the family name as Driskill.

I have spent several interesting holidays in picturesque West Cork the home land of the O'Driscolls and would be pleased to exchange notes on my branch of the clan.    The  web site  editor  would  be  pleased  to  hear   from   Jean   Cox    born   15th.   February   1942.    Please  see  the   contacts   page.

There is an excellent O' Driscoll web site at
